I am following the moves of the stock market and found the up tick in stocks and sentiment a bit amusing.
Today’s employment numbers by the Labor Department has initiated a heated debate amongst ‘economists’. Each trying to explain what is going on without completely knowing what really is. Listening to all of this makes me smile in the mornings (if not my fantastic cup of African Arabica’s)
In my simple view, we are on a slow, very slow, path to recovery. The tax hikes, whether payroll or county sales tax, have an impact on consumer spending. Cities, counties, states and the country as a whole has to work on structural reform to bring about efficiencies. Working for and towards efficiencies, while causing some initial pain, will provide long term solutions to many core issues.
Hey but I could ramble all I want, money begets money and someone is making some, whether the employment numbers go up or down. I know i am not.
